Planation and weathering in eastern Fennoscandia
Abstract
The previous theories and studies on relief planation in eastern Fennoscandia are briefly outlined. The cratonic planation theory of the Baltic Shield is viewed from the knowledge of occurrence of preglacial weathering crusts. On the basis of known regional types and occurrences of saprolites a tentative Post‑paleozoic evolutionary model of the development of the rock basement of Finland and a map of the etchplain stripping intensity of eastern Fennoscandia are presented.Published
