On the formation of ice ramparts
Abstract
The formation of ice ramparts caused by the thermal expansion of the lake ice is explained statistically with the help of variables describing general areal features and properties of the lakes and of lake shores. The last mentioned proved to be the best variables for explaining the phenomenon, the size of ice ramparts.
